rough cut feedback

The feedback given about my front page has indicated that the image is good as it relates the the mise en scene of the genre however it would be good if the whole guitar fitted into the shot so that the genre is even more identifiable. The font styles were also picked upon for being liked as they were also representative of the genre such as the 'Annabel rose' font style and the title, as they give the page a unique style. To improve y front cover I need to follow the typical code and conventions of magazines, such as decapitalising the web address and the layout needs to be adapted. The text about the artist is too straight forward and doesn't particularly engage the reader. Also to follow the conventions, the artists names tend to be found at the bottom of the page rather then at the side. This will allow me to place more text on the right hand side of the page which will engage the reader as there will be more features to read.

One key element through my magazine is that I have created synergy throughout all the pages. I have done this by using the same font styles for certain aspects such as the artists name, which makes it clear to the audience that this is an iconic font for the individual. The layout that I have chosen for my contents page is the blocky look, which makes it nice and easy to read as the text flows together nicely for the reader. This is conventional as it follow the set pattern of a magazine, as the text falls to one side of the page with the images accompanying the text on the other side. In order to improve my contents page I need to change the background as it is dull and not engaging, I will add a background colour and keep the text in boxes so that no attention is lost from the text to the background.

Again for my double page spread the layout looks good and flows nicely, as I have separated the image and text onto different pages. from my feedback, I will continue with the feminine theme by using colours like pink in order to engage a particular target audience. My target audience is females as there are in particular any music magazines of this genre that focuses on engaging females. meaning that my magazine is unique compared to any on the market. To improve my double page spread I need to re-take the image as doesn't focus on the artist as much as I would like it too. Also I will move the quote from the top of the left hand side page and place in on the image dominated page so that I can add a title to my article. As this is usually the case on double page spreads.
