double page spread 01

From my research I have been able to identify that the typical layout of a double page spread tends to either have a divide between the two pages as one contains text only and the other an image. The other layout tends to be where the main image falls over both pages and text does the same. I chose to go with the layout of having the two things divided as it looks more organised and makes the text more dominant on the page. I have included the artists name at the bottom of the right hand side page, this will cover some of the image and makes it clear that the article focuses on her, so that when the reader is flicking through the magazine it would be eye catching and will indicate that this page is the main article. I have placed a quote from the artist on the top left hand corner as I saw this on a couple of the magazines that I researched and it appealed to me. I related the quote to music as this is the main focus of the article and indicates this to the reader. I have also placed the page number in the bottom left hand corner as this is a code and convention that needs to be followed in all of my pages of my magazine.
