Title for front page

The title for my music magazine will be 'strings' as I feel that it represents the genre of my magazine, connoting the involvement of a guitar in which the reader can infer that the genre is acoustic music. The font style also engages the reader as it simplistic which would draw the attention to the name and the names meaning. The font also has a sector of the 'g' missing which is eye catching but doesn't draw too much attention away from the main image on the front cover. I think that I will leave the font black as the style stands out alone, I will use a different colour of text on other pieces of text on my front cover such as the artists name and main article. The font style connotes the genre of acoustic music as it is quite basic but has meaning behind it and is relatively personal as an artist finds their guitar to be apart of them during a song. It is also quite formal as it uses the brackets on the letters which could target a higher social class reader.

MOJO's branding generally includes the artist/band being in front of the title, this emphasises that the magazine is a highly regarded one as it doesn't need to specifically show its title as its audience can acknowledge that its MOJO. This issue has surprisingly used a black and white image which is unusual but I think that it is used to indicate that the band is of an older date therefore it represents the band for what it used to be. Also the magazine is from a while ago so this could show that the codes and conventions of music magazines have changed, this helps me with my research as it indicates that I need to keep up to date with my research as the magazine industry is constantly developing.
