Q contents page

The Q name and logo has been placed in the traditional left hand corner, synergy between the front cover and contents page. It makes it stand out among the rest of the text as it is in the branded red box, this is important as the reader becomes aware of the magazine that they are reading and can therefore associate their taste in music with this magazine. The article for James Blunt is placed second on the features list even though the main image on the contents page is of him which is focuses particularly on him as it uses a close up camera shot. This is surprising as the image largely dominates the page, yet he is placed second on the feature list. I would usually assume it would be first and therefore the main article. I will take this into consideration when designing my magazine as I think that the main article should be listed first on the contents page. There is a separate section on the page for features of the magazine that are there in every issue, it is stated as 'every month' which gives the reader a clarity in the magazine as they know that certain features will always be included. The two separate columns help break up the contents page which makes it easy for the readers eyes to follow the text. The black banners over the white writing divides the page up into different sectors and keeps the colour scheme the same which creates synergy. At the top of the page the title of 'contents' makes it clear to the  page it is. Also by almost merging the 232Contents NOV05, I think the page looks professional and represents the genre as it is looks robust which is supported by the background beginning to fade. This represents the genre of indie music as it is not the typical trends and stands out. The red arrow on the bottom right helps to show the reader to turn over the page and it seems to act as an incentive as it encourages the reader to turn the page.
