MOJO contents page

The house style is very effective in the MOJO magazine's contents page as it is rather simplistic in terms of colours as it predominantly uses black and white which seems to be a reoccurring theme throughout MOJO and other magazines. Alongside the black and white is a red colour in order to give the page some life and make certain aspects stand out among the rest. For example the words 'cover story' are highlighted in this red font as it indicated that the story that featured on the front cover will be discussed again on the contents in order to give the reader more information on the main article. The title is placed centrally at the top of the page just like on the front cover to again make it clear to the audience what magazines contents page it is. Underneath the title is the date and issue number which allow the reader to read the most current issues and acknowledge of successful the magazine is as it is likely that if a magazine has a lot of issues it will be a success and worth the read. The page is divided into three sections the first being the title and magazine information. The second being the features, which will give the reader more information on the articles in the magazine which will engage them and help identify the genre if it is not already clear. And the third section is the quote and main image which helps engage the reader as it is very organized and clear. The main image is effective as it represents the genre as the woman has her hair covering the majority of her face connoting that she is hiding something that will be revealed in the article she features in. The image is also effective as it has a blurred background which allows the readers eyes to focus on the woman in the image, the background also lies behind the text and covers the majority of the page. I would say that this contents page is image dominated as the image takes up the majority of the page and there is not much text but enough to inform the reader on what to find in the magazine.
