Kerrang double page spread

Firstly, the background of this double page spread clearly shows that the magazine is based around fame as the lights around the page act as a prop in a way for famous people as they are generally seen around their mirrors. There are also little sparks of light around the page to connote the artist being famous and a big deal in the music business. Again the house style is black, white, grey and pink. This makes the pink text stand out among rest of the text and background image. The bands name and leader signer of the band are highlighted to the reader in this pink font along with words such as 'death of the rock star' in order to engage the audience as it leads them to believe that the artist has changed 'death' and that they might be changing the genre of music that they do. The article is shown to be an interview straight away as the text in a white block indicates a question and the text below is the answer. Some of the questions are quite personal such as 'so what's your secret?' which implies that the interview is a 'kiss and tell' kind of interview, where the reader will learn new things about the artist that are personal and aren't generally touched upon. The overall layout of the magazine is formal and professional as it is all kept in margins and flows easily. I like the way that the image of the artist takes up the left hand page, it makes the reader intrigued as the artist is shown to be an indie/rock singer as he has lots of tattoos and is relatively rouged as he has messy hair and a stubble. The title of the article over laps onto the image dominated page which leads the readers eye onto the article below. This double pages spread doesn't particularly represent the magazine Kerrang as the house style of Kerrang isn't shown on the double page spread which it normally is. Overall I like the idea of having my double page spread having one image dominated page with some text on, I also like the idea of having a house style that include black and white and then one colour that makes certain things stand out.
