front page 06/07

I felt as though my front page wasn't as conventional as I wished it to be, in order to make my front page more conventional I re-took my main image. I now feel as though it does follow the codes and conventions of a music magazines front page as the artist is looking directly at the camera. The cover now looks more professional as the image is of a higher quality and the background makes the magazine more relevant to the genre as it is calming and indie. For the main image I included the artist holding some daisy's as her name had a flower in, I changed her name from Annabel rose to Annabel daisy in order for the daisy's to be relevant in the image and have a meaning to the reader. Furthermore, I have changed the artists name from a pink font colour to blue as it is easier to read and is further emphasised among the rest of the text. I need to think about the placement of the artists name on the page because at the moment it seems to be covering parts of the image, in particular her eyebrow. I will change this so that the image can fully be seen so that it is the main feature and main focus for the reader.

I have changed my title font in order for my magazine to fit the codes and conventions, through my research I have found that the majority of the titles are in a block font style. This makes the artists name more predominant on the page and it gives the page a more organised feel. I have also re-arranged some of the text, again through my research I have found that the bar code tends to lie next to or alongside the issue number, date and web address. I have moved the artists name and main article text below the main image as it now doesn't cover any of the artists face and makes the image the priority of the page.
